June Meeting a.k.a. The Summer Party and Low Gravity Competition
-Every June the club hosts a summer party and low gravity competition. It is a pot luck event, bring some food to share and a beer brewed in 2014 under 6% to enter into the informal competition. The party is on Saturday June 28th at Matt P’s place in Northeast. Be on the look out for additional information soon.

We have again secured space at the NorthEast Farmers Market for each Saturday in June (7, 14, 21, 28). What do we do at the NorthEast Farmers Market? Brew beer of course! We also serve homemade soda. If you would like to Brew beer onsite, make soda to serve or just show up to talk beer then enter your info here: Sign Up Sheet

NHCNHC
We are going to the National Homebrewers Conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan! Six members have confirmed they are attending, they will be bringing barrel beers(see below) and non-barrel beers. If you would like to show off your beer and represent the club we will bring your beer to NHC! Contact the Executive Committee if you are interested.

Barrels

Recent Activity
–
Barrel #2, Saison 2.1 was filled on 3-29, it currently does not have a strong brett flavor, the bubble gum esters are currently dominating.

Barrel #4, Belgian Dark Strong 2.1 was emptied on 4-26 and 3phils-2refilled with the same recipe. The participants of the first fill were gracious enough to let the club have 5 gallons to serve at NHC, thanks all! One thing to note is the Wee Heavy that was in this barrel first has developed a pediococcus infection. This may be in the barrel and may be in the first Belgian Dark. We may have to put brett into this barrel…

Barrel #1, Barley/Rye Wine 2.1 is developing some floral and funky flavors which we are attributing to brett. if you are in on this beer and haven’t had to a chance to taste it let Aaron D. know and we can make arrangements.

Barrel #3, Flanders Red will be going to NHC, the rest of the beer will be ready late summer to early fall. Its really good and we will be putting the same beer back in so be on the look out of the sign up later this year.

NHC
– We will be bringing at least 8 different barrel beers to NHC, totaling 50 gallons. We will be serving Saturday afternoon while we present our Club Barrel Aging Program poster. We are looking for members to brew beer to replenish the beer being removed, the ingredients will be funded by the club. We need Barley Wine and Rye Saison. Contact the Executive Committee if you would be willing to help out.
