Lets Party, and Drink Beer!
We kick off 2017 with our Winter Party (January 21st – Noon to 4pm – Northern Brewer Roseville) Check the google group for details.  At the party we are holding our High Gravity Beer Competition, Sign up link in the google group. We hope to see you there!

As a result of the party there is no regular monthly meeting in January.

Club Leadership
The Executive Committee has voted to appoint Perrin Bishop-Wright to Vice President. The seat will be up for election in January of 2018.

Three other positions are up for election, nominations were made at the November meeting. Voting will take place at the winter party. All elected members serve 2 year terms.

2017 Membership
Right now is a great time to sign up for membership. For the month of January we are waiving the online convenience fee for PayPal payments, sign up here. Memeber Benefit include; Access to club barrels, Participation in club experiments, Our mailing list: The NBA Google Group, 10% discount at many fine homebrew shops and liquor stores, Monthly social and educational meeting.

Our regular monthly meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of the month. Our usual meeting place is Eastside Neighborhood Services in NE Minneapolis, our first meeting at this space will be in April. Our February meeting will be at Midwest Supplies and our March meeting will be at Northern Brewer Minneapolis. Bring your latest homebrew and join us to share, taste and learn.

Barrels
We will continue to empty and fill all of our barrels in 2017. We are starting with the Flanders barrel. Flanders Red is a sour, fruity, red wine-like Belgianstyle ale. We fill the barrel with clean fermented beer and let it age in the barrel for at least a year to allow the yeast and bacteria in the barrel impact its unique characteristics.

NHC is coming!
The National Homebrew Conferance is coming to Minneapolis! You can bet we will be involved. More details will be coming about how you can help out during this great event!
